Isfahan is a city in central Iran, known for its Persian architecture. In the huge Naqsh-e Jahan Square is the 17th-century Imam (Shah) Mosque, whose dome and minarets are covered with mosaic tiles and calligraphy. Isfahan or Esfahan (see on map) is a major city in the Central District of the Isfahan Province of Iran. It is located 440 kilometres (270 miles) south of Tehran and is the capital of Isfahan Province. Naqsh-e Jahan square is definitely the first place to visit in Isfahan. You can find several historic spots around this big and beautiful square; such as Shah Mosque, Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, Ali Qapu Palace, and the grand traditional bazaar that stretches all around the square. Moreover, you can have a delicious meal in one of great nearby restaurants.
As you may know there is a river inside the city and so some magnificent bridges are made on it through the history. Si-o Se Pol (33 Bridges) and Khajou Bridge are the most famous ones.
A night free walk and wander in the city is always fancy. You may spend some time walking in Chahar Bagh boulevards.
